This page explains how to delete your Seed account and the data stored with it. Seed is operated by AshStart Inc., a corporation incorporated in Ontario, Canada.
1. Delete from inside the app
If you have a Seed+ subscription, cancel it first in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting your account does not cancel it, and the store will keep charging you.
- Open Seed.
- Go to Me → Delete account and data.
- Confirm.
You may be asked to sign in again. That step confirms it is you before anything is erased.
Your records are deleted first, then your account. This cannot be undone.
2. If you cannot open the app
If you have already uninstalled Seed, or you cannot sign in, email daegil@ashstart.com from the address linked to your account and ask us to delete it. We will confirm your identity before acting, and we will reply once it is done.
If you used Seed without linking a Google or Apple account, your records were tied to an anonymous identifier held on that device alone. Uninstalling the app makes that identifier unrecoverable — we have no way to find those records, and neither do you.
3. What is deleted
| Account | Your Seed sign-in and the identifier linked to it |
| Profile | Your name and profile photo |
| Habits | Every habit and identity you created, with its settings |
| Logs | Every check, journal entry, place, and note |
| Photos | Every photo attached to a journal entry, and your profile photo |
| Settings | Your settings, including the group members you have blocked |
| Notification tokens | The tokens that let us send group notifications to your devices |
| Groups | Your membership in every group, and your check-ins in each of them. Your name is removed from groups’ activity histories |
All of it is deleted without undue delay. There is no additional retention period for this data.
If you own a group that has other members, ownership passes to the member who joined earliest. If you are its only member, the group is closed.
4. What is kept
Your Seed+ subscription. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription — cancel it in the store (see §1).
Purchase records. Apple and Google keep their own records of your purchases under their own policies. RevenueCat, which checks purchases for us, keeps the record of your transactions tied to your former account identifier, which we need for accounting, tax, and refunds. Email us if you want it deleted, and we will delete it where the law allows. See §2.8 and §6 of the Privacy Policy.
What stays in a group. A group you were in keeps its activity history, which then refers to your former account identifier without your name, and the number of check-ins you added to its shared forest. A group you created, and shared habits you added to a group, stay with its remaining members.
Feedback you sent us. A report sent from Me → Send feedback does not carry your account identifier, so deleting your account does not remove it — the same as an email you have already sent us. Email us if you want a report deleted.
Diagnostics and usage data. Crash reports and usage events are not linked to your account — they are tied to an installation identifier, not to you — so deleting your account does not remove them. They remain in pseudonymous form. See §2.5 and §6 of the Privacy Policy.
Data the law requires us to keep. Where a law requires a longer retention period, that data is stored separately for that period and then destroyed.
5. Deleting some of your data, without closing your account
You can edit or remove individual entries and photos inside the app. To ask us to delete something specific while keeping your account, email daegil@ashstart.com.
Undoing a check stops it counting toward your records, but journal text and photos attached to it stay in storage until you remove them or delete your account.
